On Tuesday April 12, Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream held its "free scoop day." Local stores are encouraged to collect donations for a worthy cause while long lines of people line up for their free ice cream. The Ben and Jerry's in the Long Beach Towne Center in Southern California chose the Asian Access Tsunami Relief Fund. A big thank you to Kathy Yoon, the store manager, for caring about the people devastated by the disaster in Japan, and choosing Asian Access as the opportunity for giving at their location. Southern California has the home of three notable fundraisers now. In addition to Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream, both Chick-Fil-A/Valencia and The Safari's concert at The Coach House in San Juan Capistrano have sponsored events to benefit the A2/Japan Tsunami Relief Fund. We're sure there are other events in many different places, too, and would love to hear about them. Want to Plan a Fundraiser? If you're interested in planning a fundraiser for Japan tsunami relief, let us know about it. Also, feel free to download this flyer (PDF) to adapt/use at the event.
