My friend recommended this site (it's absolutely free) and thus far it seems to be helpful for beginners. I'm not sure if this is allowed, but here is the link in case any one else is interested.

I've heard that school doesn't really prepare you for the life in Japan (as in the language taught at Universities) but I suppose that we all have to start somewhere.
