List of Known Bugs 5 Years, 1 Month ago
Unless otherwise noted, these minor, but annoying, problems have been known to occur within the following browsers:
  • Apple Safari 2.x and 3.x
  • Mozilla Firefox 2.x and 3.x
  • Opera 9.x

ALL BROWSERS:
Here are some known problems on this forum that I am working on:
  • Top Level Pill Menu gets mis-aligned.
Temporary Workaround: Just click on any of the buttons, and the menu bar should re-align.
Changed template so this is a moot point!

  • Top Level Forum Menu gets mis-aligned.
Temporary Workaround: Just click on any of the links, and the menu bar should re-align.
FIXED! No need for temp workaround.

  • Avatar thumbnail does not appear on the Flat View list.
This omission doesn't occur on every Flat View page, but just the topics within the Threads in Forum page. It doesn't really create a problem, though Safari renders the missing image with a question mark (?). Still working on locating the right file and code line to assign correct URL.
FIXED! Avatars now appear in these flat view lists.

  • Temporary Workaround: none at present.[/li]
  • Column 1 (menus) just disappears in some views.
Some views shift to full wrapper, instead of keeping the left sidebar (column 1) intact. This usually happens after users have clicked Submit when posting an entry or Save when saving changes to their profile.
Temporary Workaround: just click any link and Column 1 reappears.
Column format changed to make forum bigger. Moot point.

  • Administrators/Managers cannot add Announcements.
The existing published announcement may be edited, but new announcements cannot be added. Clicking "Add New" link results in error message "Hacking Attempt."
Temporary Workaround: Super Administrator must manually add new announcements via PHP MyAdmin database control panel.

SPECIFIC BROWSERS:
Here are some issues known to occur only in some browsers:
  • Missing random image in top left column.
Safari and Opera, at times, cannot find the correct image folder, and the text "No images" appears where the random image should appear.
Temporary Workaround: Try quitting your browser and restarting. Or just use Firefox.
FIXED! Should work in all browsers now.

  • Main (middle) Column on main site doesn't always fit; bumped way down the page.
Internet Exlorer 7 (Windows), on certain pages, has a huge white space at top of main (middle) column. Happens @ 1024x768px resolution on 15" monitors and smaller.
Temporary Workaround: None. I'll have to rework the CSS code to find a compromise that works on the low-end benchmark resolution.
    FIXED!

Fortunately, most of these known issues do represent a huge problem, except this last one. I'm sure there are many more bugs that haven't been discovered yet in beta testing. This is true especially of Internet Explorer 6 and 7, which have not been tested much to date.

Hey Jeff, nice list.

So far, I have not encountered the missing random image in Safari. It has always been there. Either that or I just never noticed it.

I have not noticed the miss-aligned menus. I will try and look more carefully in the future, but the alignment issue has not been one that has caught my attention.
